He is also the host of this political comedy podcast "Abe Lincoln's Top Hat". In 2017 Ben conducted for Brooklyn Borough President together with the Reform Party, which he didn't win, but there is always tomorrow! He is a political pundit with appearances on CNN, Fox News Network, HLN and a nationwide radio host with labored on Sirius Radio and Fox News Radio. In 2015 as a political activist he managed to overturn an anti-cross dressing law in New Jersey. The Last Podcast about the Left is a weekly podcast featuring comedian and podcast sponsor Ben Kissel, podcast producer and writer Marcus Parks, and comedian and actor Henry Zebrowski (who combined in the third episode), all of whom are longtime friends. Released every Friday the episodes are generally 1 hour in length, together with the hosts investigating the horrors of the planet both imagined and real. Previous episodes have researched the subjects of serial killers, conspiracy theories, UFO sightings, ghosts, and readings of fan-submitted creepypastas. Kissel, Parks, and Zebrowski tour with live performances of the podcast and produce The Last Stream about the Left, a live-streaming spinoff show on the Adult Swim site. In the post-Trump era, with a reality TV star holding our country's highest office, tales such as Kissel's are becoming more common -- droves of young men and women are getting involved and seeking public office. On the 1 hand, the 2016 election showed us that candidates don't have to be qualified to win. On the other, it was a rude awakening the dissatisfied have to take politics into their own hands. Enter Ben Kissel. In his "day job," Kissel -- along with co-hosts Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski -- hosts a true-crime-meets-paranormal humor podcast. Last Podcast on the Left is ranked second on iTunes' humor graph and attracts fans across the globe. But like many dismayed young Republicans, Kissel took 2016 as a wake-up telephone to run for office. As someone who's been recorded in podcasts and on the radio for eight years, Kissel acknowledges that a great deal of individuals hesitate to run for office for fear of criticism or having their previous exposed. His advice? Own it. After all, he states, everyone has their own past, and so long as you "treat the voters with respect and humanity," voters may "accept all the defects that go with that person, provided that that individual is willing to accept them." Much like the criminals he covers on Last Podcast, Kissel says with a laugh, "a lot of politicians are sociopaths with no ideology. Obviously not all of these, but we want the people that have scruples, morals, and are worried about their own failings." For someone who faces the worst of humankind with dark comedy in his day job, 6'7" tall Kissel really feels in the best of people. He believes in good goals, sincerity, and redemption. These traits might seem just as strange in a true-crime aficionado as they do at a politician, but they are the same traits that give a young, non-politician the unique capability to serve the general public. No matter what happens on Tuesday there is no losing. "The fact that we're on the ballot is unbelievable, and that we're able to inspire people to conduct or engage in the political process -- that's a triumph. That's a massive win," he says. Kissel needs other people to take heart in this message, also: "Losing is a significant fear for people, but who cares! Just get out there, and if you continue getting out, continue doing it in any field, you're gonna triumph." Learn More - Ben Kissel Fox News
